Director of Operations
Renee Hawkins, MHA, joined Idaho Urologic Institute as the Director of Operations following a distinguished 20-year career in imaging and healthcare administration. Renee began her career in 2001 as an X-ray technologist in Twin Falls before earning her Nuclear Medicine degree from Weber State University in 2003. She quickly advanced into leadership and, in 2006, became the Imaging Director overseeing 124 FTEs.
In 2011, Renee transitioned to St. Luke’s in Boise as the Director of Breast Care Services, supporting five locations from Nampa to Wood River and leading more than 90 FTEs. During this time, she completed her Master of Healthcare Administration with distinction in 2014. Known for her thoughtful leadership and operational expertise, Renee later joined Saltzer Health in 2020 as the Director of Imaging for their new Ten Mile location. She successfully opened the site during the COVID-19 pandemic and led the onboarding of imaging teams serving eight locations. When Saltzer closed, its imaging services were acquired by Intermountain Medical Imaging, where Renee continued as Director and helped drive a 19% increase in volume within the first year of the transition.
Renee has recently expanded her professional scope beyond imaging, bringing her extensive operational leadership experience to Idaho Urologic Institute as the Director of Operations. She is recognized for her collaborative approach, her ability to guide teams through change, and her commitment to operational excellence and patient-centered care.
Renee lives in Idaho with her husband of 32 years, a retired deputy from the Twin Falls Sheriff’s Department, and their 21-year-old daughter who is pursuing a nursing degree at CWI. Their family also includes a spirited 15-year-old Pomeranian mix. Outside of work, Renee enjoys reading—her favorite book is The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway—spending time with friends and family, practicing barre, learning German on Duolingo, hiking, and gardening Her favorite movie is The Princess Bride.
